TV Jobs Assignment

The first job I would apply for is in Joplin, Mo; they are a 145 Market. Their station is KSNF, and their news director’s name is Jim Jackson. The station is looking for a morning show co-anchor who can bring a sparking on-camera presence and interview skills to the show, and can interact well with the other co-anchor and forecaster. I would love this job because I could interview people and do other things besides anchoring. The distance would not be a problem for me because it is in the same state. That is definitely a plus. I picked this job over the other jobs because it is in the same state that I live in and because it is an entry level job.

The second job I would apply for is in the city of Wausau, WI; their station is WAOW. They are looking for a Reporter/videographer who can write compelling copy, shoot great video, edit stories into concise and easy-to understand reports and exhibit an aggressive desire to succeed, and a tape and resume. The market level is a 134, and the news director’s name is Randy Winter.
I would be willing to move here even though I don’t like the fact of moving so far away, but if I got the job, I would definitely go. The reason I picked this over the other jobs was that they were accepting entry level jobs and also I really liked their website. It was set up very nicely and made their station look very credible.

Lastly, I would be interested in applying for a job in was Rockford, Illinois; the station name is WTVO/WQRF. They are looking for a GA reporter/fill-in anchor who is aggressive, is creative, is highly motivated, loves to break local news stories, comes to the table with story ideas daily, is a team player, can handle the pressures of deadlines and breaking news in a competitive fashion; must be able to go live, with experience is a plus. Must have a tape, resume and references.
The market number for this city is a 132 market and the news director’s name is Kent Harrell.
I would be more than willing to move there for this job because I am from Missouri and it is only one state away from were I grew up. I picked this job over the other jobs because the other ones you needed to be in the business for x many years and I haven’t yet. What interests me about this one in particular is, yes, it is a smaller market, but it could be a lot smaller and also that it is pretty close to where I live is a plus.
