Today we met in the classroom first and received many pamphlets…aka.. books, about how to make yourself a better anchor/reporter. When I first walked in and saw all of these pamphlets, I was really worried because I hate reading, but I am really glad that she gave us those because, in my own time, I will read them and they will answer any other questions that I may have. The pamphlets covered things like hair, make-up, voice, etc.
After we went over the pamphlets, we watched some of Professor Schroeder’s college tapes. Of course she had things to work on at the time, just like all of us, but I do not think she looked or sounded too terrible; I was waiting for something a lot worse and more funny. I’m kind of disappointed. Just kidding!!!
Then the boys left the classroom and the girls talked about how to do proper make-up for the camera. Professor Schroeder brought in her MAC make-up and demonstrated how to put it on. I thought this was a lot of fun; it was kind of like we were at a sleep over. Haha.
Then we moseyed on down to the station and started our newscast. Jen did weather, John did sports, Sakshi did weather, and Davina and Beth anchored. As always, everyone did a great job. I can already see improvements in everyone’s performances; way to go! Also, if anyone has criticism for me on Thursday when I anchor, it would be more than appreciated if you would tell me. I won’t be offended at all; it would help me out a lot. Thanks.
